Smokers are commonly deficient in vitamin E, it is an important antioxidant supporting the brain, skin, cells, metabolism and even your hair. Vitamin E is essential for the production of collagen. It also assists the blood in creating healthy red blood cells, supporting a healthy metabolism. This study shows that Vitamin E supplementation can reduce smoking induced oxidation in young smokers. Vitamin E can inhibit the absorption of niacin, so if you are taking niacinamide during the day, it would be better to take vitamin E in the evening. If you are taking Vitamin E, be sure to get the Alpha Tocopherol version. I take vitamin e with my other skincare vitamins ( vitamin a, vitamin c, selenium, alpha lipoic acid (ALA), hyaluronic acid and coQ10 ) in the evenings after dinner. Smokers are commonly deficient in vitamin E.
The upper daily limit for vitamin E is 1000mg and high doses can cause toxicity.
