Alpha Lipoic Acid
antioxidant ALPHA LIPOIC ACID (ALA)
metabolism | skin repair | detox
Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is essential for healthy red blood cells needed by your body to store ATP (metabolic energy), which means it’s needed for healthy red blood cells. It’s also a wonderful antioxidant for beautiful skin and collagen synthesis which smokers are commonly deficient in. ALA is plant-based and can be considered as an essential fatty acid, in that for those that don’t eat fish or eggs, ALA can be taken as an alternative to fish oils / omega-3 fatty acids, and your body will convert some of the ALA into EPA and DHA essential fatty acids. Out of all of the supplements I studied this year, ALA is the only one that as a stand-alone supplement may help with weight loss. That said, I take ALA for detoxing, and for ATP and collagen production for my metabolism and skin.
I take ALA with other supplements for my skin including coQ10, selenium, vitamin a, vitamin c, vitamin e and hyaluronic acid about 30 minutes after having dinner.
