Some people take Xanax, some people take theanine. I take theanine. It’s my zen supplement when the world goes mad, or my anxiety sky rockets. I’ve read that people take it to relieve “stage fright” before big presentations or even social events, but generally I take it for anxiety. Theanine boosts dopamine, is detoxifying and is naturally found in green tea. For whatever reason, I feel like iced-green tea is a better source of theanine than hot tea, if you don’t plan on supplementing. I take theanine daily in the detox phase, and then as needed for anxiety and cravings. It helps me to relax and refocus my mind on something else whether it’s reading a book or looking at recipes on Pinterest.
